MFD Safety Program

Safety is a top priority. If a job cannot be done safely, then it should not be done.

The Mechanical Fabrication Department (MFD) engages in a wide range of manufacturing activities including machining, brazing, welding, plating, and vacuum work. Inherent to these processes are hazards that must be identified and properly controlled to ensure the safety of our workers.

The Safety Programs at SLAC are rapidly changing, and understanding the requirements and how they apply to your work activities can be confusing. This website is intended to help the employees in MFD find answers to their Safety and Health Questions.

Randy Ralston (METS), ES&H Officer is available to help employees and supervisors get the job done safely.
