A New Generation of Red-Sensitive CCDs
Abstract: |
High-resistivity charge-coupled devices are currently being developed
at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. The CCDs are fully depleted by an
external bias voltage, and are 200-300 micrometers thick. We review basic CCD
function and present high-voltage development results for visible and
infrared quantum efficiency, radiation tolerance, point spread
function, and charge transfer efficiency. These CCDs will be used for
space and ground-based telescopes such as SNAP, DES, and LSST.
