Need a Book?

You may request a book by first searching the catalog and clicking on the "Request a Copy" link next to each book. We can deliver the books to your office, mail the book, or notify you when it is ready for pick up at the Library.

If you want a book that we don't have, fill out the Request Form or email us. You have the choice of requesting that we borrow the book from another library, purchase the book for your department (charge # needed for this action), or recommend the book be purchased for the Library collection.

Need an Article?

To request an article, fill out the Request Form or email us. The Public Services team will do its utmost to obtain the article for you.

Policies

SLAC's loan period is a minimum of two weeks. However, be aware that interlibrary loan books from other libraries frequently have different loan periods, charge fines for late returns, and rarely allow for renewals.

• If you have a book that another SLAC person has requested, please return the recalled book immediately. If you need the book for research, please talk to us and we can purchase another book if it is in high demand.
• Reference books and journals are for in-library use only.
• The Library will not borrow books/materials for personal use.
• Staffed hours of operation are 8:00am to 4:30pm. However, the Library is open to all SLAC employees and users 24x7. Our new location is in the foyer of Bldg. 50 (or the Computing Building)
• The SLAC Library is open to the Stanford University community as well as the general public during the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday by appointment only.
