Retrieving of Boxes from Federal StorageAny records stored at the Federal Records Center may be recalled for “temporary” use (file or box will be returned to FRC after use by SLAC) or “permanent” retention at SLAC (box or file will not be returned to FRC). A single file folder, box or entire series of boxes can be recalled from the FRC. To recall records:
2. Records Management will submit the request to the FRC. Standard turnaround time for delivery to SLAC is about one week, but rush exceptions can be made. 3. Records Management will deliver the box or folder as soon as it is received from the FRC. Same day retrievals are possible under special circumstances. Check with Records Management for further details. 4. If the retrieval is temporary, return the individual file to Records Management or notify us that a box is ready to be returned. All returns must go through Records Management so the retrieval can be tracked.
