Voltage drop and individually powered peak field measurements were made on each coil of the Orion ecomp solenoid.  Feb-3-2004 sa & kh

Volatge drop measurements were made at ~200 A, using a Fluke multimeter.  The coils are labeled left and right side 1-4, with 1 being the first coil on each side at the -z end of the solenoid.  

Left Side Voltage Drops        
 
Coil 1 -  1.984 V
Coil 2 -  1.980 V
Coil 3 -  2.022 V
Coil 4 -  2.014 V

Right Side Voltage Drops     

Coil 1 -  2.023 V
Coil 2 -  2.022 V
Coil 3 -  2.030 V
Coil 4 -  2.028 V


Peak field measurements using the axial probe with each coil powered at 51.0 A.
