Cc: Weidemann, Achim W.; Wittmer, Walter Subject: Next steps on Q5E#2 and B3E#1 Dear Scott Achim has been looking at the reverse polarity data on Q5E#2 but he hasn't finished all the fine details yet and won't til late Friday morning at the earliest. So please can you run the 3 hour thermal test on Q5E#2 (in its reversed polarity) during Friday morning? I have just looked at the integrated strength run on B3E#1 which you posted to the web a short while ago and it is looking as expected, and a quick calculation shows 460 amps will give us the nominal strength, so on Friday morning please can you measure the harmonics using the instructions in step 11(b) of my plan , just set the current to 460 amps rather than 465.3. I notice you had a positive integrated strength -your definitions may be different from mine, just want to confirm you have a north pole on top? Then, without waiting for us to look at the harmonics data you can proceed to step 11(c) and run the trim coils. Thanks Cherrill Ext 3474
