The summary displays for feedback loops can now display a more descriptive text of the state of a loop.

The order of the states is as follows:

$$ O:All is ok
HSTA OF:Loop is off
STAT BA:STAT is not ok
STAT OF:STAT off bit set
DEV  :Dev version running
REQ ONL:Request only
STATOKO:STAT OK is on
??STATE:Loop is in unknown state

Temperature monitoring

June 9, 1987

Author: Ralph Johnson Subsystem: SLC User Impact: none
Panel Changes: none Documentation: no Help File: no

The history monitoring can now handle temperatures. A few will be put in this week with many more next week if all goes well. To get a plot of the data the analog status diagnostic panel must (at this time) be used to select the channel and micro. Then push the history plot button on this same panel. Initially there will be a few channels saved, with more added as the system continues to function properly. See John Silva for those channels currently being saved.

New steering features

June 11, 1987

Author: Idith Almog Subsystem: Ring, Linac User Impact: small
Panel Changes: few Documentation: Yes Help File: no

The following features have been added to the steering software: .cm

{2.} Off momentum steering: To use the off momentum steering, toggle

OFF
 MOMENT
 ON/OFF

button in the

STEER
 DIAG-
 NOSTIC

panel to ON. Momentum delta will be reported, and the trajectory will be steered to $$ x_i  -  $$ where $$  =  sum block start x_i^2 sum block end$$

{3.} Two Beam Steering in the 50 beam line: A special 4$$4 algorithm is available for steering $e^+/e^-$ beam simultaneously in the 50 beam line. This is available only from the power steering and only when TWO BEAM steering is selected. For BPM calibration, the selected display group in the BPMO START panel must be BEAM SWITCH YARD, this allows the two beams to be scanned in the CA11 and CA01 micros.
