Quad trim current determination The quad trim values were calculated using the data in runs 8 (skew quad trim only), 9 (normal quad trim only) and 10 solenoid only. Matlab function Calculate_Quad_Trim was written to calculate the quad trim settings. Its steps are: Calculate the normal and skew quad trim polynomial, integrated gradient vs current, after subtracting the zero current integrated gradient value from the data. Calculate the current vs integrated gradient polynomial for the non dominate term of the quad trim, ie. the skew of the normal quad trim and the normal of the skew trim. Calculate the normal and skew quad trim currents to zero the solenoid field, using the normal field for the normal quad trim and the skew field for the skew quad trim. Use currents for the normal and skew that cancel the solenoid quad values to calculate the effect of the coils non dominate term , due to both coils rotation wrt to the solenoid and rotating coil plane. The rotating coil was set to have 0 degrees be perpendicular to gravity. Use the field values from the non dominate term (ie. the skew field for the normal quad trim and the normal field of the skew quad trim.) Recalculate the cancelation current for the normal and skew quad trims.
