At DC current of 6.00019 Amps the By field at the magnet center is By = 109.45 Gauss. From the stretched wire measurements this current gives a 24.17 G-m integral field. To reach 120 G-m integral field one would need a center field peak field of 120/24.17*0.010945 T = 0.05434 T which would be a rms field of 0.038424 T or 384.24 G. The 138.4 G rms field was reached with a 122 peak voltage and a 11. peak current @ 60 Hz, the top coil was 36 deg C after ~5 minutes (21 deg C ambient temp. To reach the 384.24 G field we would need 384.24/138.4 = 2.28*11 = 30.54 Amps peak of current. The phase difference was 83 deg, so the Power = 86.3 Vrms * 8 Arms * cos(83) = 172 W. The power supplies we have at the moment max out at 11A peak. The Type 5 coils inside separation is 4 inches.
