				Sims 3.00

This is the release of Sims 3.00. It comes with a number of 
.inp - and .out - Files for demo and testing purposes. You
will find them in the directory you installed 'sims.exe' to.

New with this release are the following features:

 - a tree view of the network categorized in various kinds
   of objects and observations

 - a list view with detailed data of the network which is 
   controlled by the tree view

 - printing of plan, side, and end views, list printing

 - import of .out and .inp - files

 - zooming in and out

 - elaborated property sheets for the simulation and network
   parameters, especially standard deviations

There is a known problem when you try to print a zoomed view of
the network, mapping is not appropriate.


Finishing successfully the installation procedure should place
you in a position to run Sims properly on a Windows 95/98 or
Windows NT platform.

Version 3.0 is a complete redesign of Sims as a MFC application. 
This release so far realizes the most fundamental functionality
of Sims as a simulation of free networks of stations and targets
in geodetic measurement:

 - building a network of stations and points

 - defining observations in the network (distance, direction,
   height difference)

 - calculating error ellipses for each station and target

 - free manipulation of locations within a predefined three
   dimensional volume

Sims uses calculation services of Lego through an OLE Automation
interface. Lego exposes its service as an in-process server DLL.
