Hi Andy, I completed the Stretched-Wire measurements on the Permanent Dipole 'Electron Magnet EC#1.' The results can be found on the web at http://www-group.slac.stanford.edu/met/MagMeas/MAGDATA/SSRL/PermDipole/ElMagEC1/ The B*l values can be found in the files wiredat.ru where refers to data taken as follows: Wire location -------- -------------------------- 1 Half-way between poles 2 about 1/4 in closer to South pole, 2.8 cm above South pole 3 4 cm above south pole 4 5.3 cm above South pole -------- -------------------------- The south and Noth poles inner edges are 6.8 cm apart. On the measurement table, the South pole was on the bottom, and data taken at nominal positions -3,-2,-1, 0,+1,+2,+3 cm (if South is on bottom, -3 cm is on the left of center; if, as in your hand drawing in my notebook, South is on the left, -3 cm is 3 cm above the center, near top of beampipe). Please let me know if you want any additional measurements with this set-up; I come in before 9 am, and could do them right then. Good luck with getting the North-South poles properly arranged. Cheers, >>>Achim
