From: Dell'Orco, Domenico Sent: Monday, July 28, 2003 11:41 AM To: Anderson, Scott D. Subject: Hall probe scanning Hi Scott, For the Hall probe scanning please use the following curve. X=R-sqrt(R^2-z^2) where R=7.8291 m Z=0 at the end of the pole extension, x=0 is the centerline of the magnet. At the end of the magnet (the exit pole extension, z=1.18542m and x=0.09026m. Please measure the field at z from -0.1 to +1.28 with dz =0.0115 (120 points) And x from -0.0225 to +0.0225 at dx=0.0015 (30 points). There are 3600 points and at 8s/ea is 4 hours/halfmagnet The currents to be used are the same as for the leakage field: 273A, -10%, +10%. Also please scan the end field with both mirror plates from z from -0.1 to 0.1 dz=0.0025, x from -0.0075 to 0.0075 with dx =0.0015 (81 x 11 =891 points @ 8s/ea = 2 hours). The injected field to be measured is only the main component (vertical only). Let me know if you need anything else or if the points are too many.
