Simplified General Data Flow

The diagram shows in a simplified fashion the flow of data from the GPS satellite via the antenna and receiver to the final storage.

Diagram of Simplified General Data Flow

The signal transmitted by the GPS satellites is captured by the omni-directional choke ring antenna Leica AT-504 and fed into the Leica RS-500 receiver. The receiver outputs an RTK correction signal that is transmitted via the Pacific Crest radio modem/antenna to the rover units. The Leica binary observation files are logged on the data logging PC via an Ethernet connection. The data are converted to RINEX format, quality checked, and, finally, uploaded to the anonymous FTP area.
