The microwave window & coatings group manufactures high power
microwave windows for use on klystrons, RF cavities and similar devices
produced for SLAC'S two-mile accelerator and associated high energy
physics experiments. This group specializes in thin film coatings to
suppress electron multi-pactor.
Technician loading windows into an
ultra high vacuum sputtering system. Typical
coatings are 10 angstroms of titanium nitride.

reactive coating of a high voltage seal
assembly.
To assure a clean substrate and produce a high purity film,
many visual inspections are required.
Windows of
various sizes and
power ratings are produced for both input and
output RF applications.
