Dining Services

  • SLAC has an onsite cafeteria, located in Building 42 next to the Panofsky Auditorium. The cafeteria is open Monday through Friday for breakfast from 6:30 AM to 9AM and for lunch from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Vending machines are located in many buildings throughout the site.

Furniture - SLAC Warehouse/Salvage

Surplus furniture is stored in the SLAC Warehouse (Building 28). Check the Warehouse before ordering new furniture.

Note: SLAC usually shuts down each year for 3 days between Christmas and New Year's.

Labor Pool

The services of the SLAC Labor Pool are available for moving heavy items. Contact the Labor Pool, ext. 3724, before moving any heavy equipment or furniture. 

Have an account number ready when using. 

Library

The SLAC Library is staffed for reference and other assistance from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, but is open for on-site use by SLAC staff 24 hours a day.

Publishing Scientific Work

All written results of SLAC work must be properly tracked, collected, and made publicly accessible as mandated by SLAC’s DOE contract. This applies to all work performed at SLAC, or work completed collaboratively elsewhere utilizing SLAC effort.

In line with DOE Order 241.1A, InfoMedia Solutions (IMS) processes and tracks all SLAC-related research papers, theses, and reports, regardless of where such research may eventually appear (e.g., a journal article, conference proceedings, preprint archive, or server elsewhere).

As a SLAC author, you must register and submit your SLAC documents to InfoMedia by doing the following.
* Register for a document number with the iDoc Online Registration System.

* Put the DOE contract acknowledgment on your paper (i.e., "Work supported [optional: in part] by the U.S. Department of Energy under contract number DE-AC02-76SF00515.").

* Submit a copy of your document to InfoMedia before publication or electronic posting (including submission to the arXiv.org).
