For those who attended the Accelerator Safety Workshop (ASW) at the ORNL Spallation Neutron Source last August, you may recall that Steve Butala offered to make arrangements for the 2007 Workshop at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). This will be the third in our series of Workshops that started September 28-30, 2004 at Fermilab. I am pleased to announce August 7-9 as the dates to reserve for the next Workshop. Steve Butala is coordinating the ANL arrangements for the Workshop.

You shortly will receive further details about registration and meals/lodging arrangements that will be available at ANL for the workshop. I have spoken with a number of you about topics of interest for the Workshop. You will have an opportunity to contribute to these interest areas shortly.

It was agreed last year to establish an ASW Working Group to provide a focal point for planning the agenda for this meeting and future workshops. In addition, this Group would represent a central collection point for topics of interest of the accelerator community. Frank Kornegay (SNS-ORNL) and Ed Lessard (BNL) graciously have agreed to be Co-chairpersons for this Working Group. You will learn more about the activities of the Working Group in coming weeks.
