Challenge Exams

EOESH

A challenge exam for EOESH is offered for individuals that have received the EOESH training before and are returning to refresh their certification for another two years. The EOESH challenge exam is offered over the web through SLAC's SkillSoft web training portal. You can take this exam at your desktop or at home. Please follow the following instructions to log into SkillSoft and challenge this course.

  1. Turn off the pop-up blocker in your browser.
    • For Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu > Pop-up Blocker > Turn off Pop-up Blocker.
    • For Firefox, go to the Tools menu > Options > click on the content tab in the options window > uncheck the Block pop-up windows check box > click OK.
  2. Locate your SLAC system ID number on your SLAC Directory page. This is your log-in ID.
  3. Identify the password
  4. Click here to Launch the SkillSoft training portal.
    • Enter your SLAC system ID and password
    • Wait for the SkillPort catalog page to load - if you see a blank page with the words "Login in progress" for longer then 40 seconds, you may need to install Java. Please see the system requirements  for notes on installing Java.
  5. After you log into your SkillSoft page, click on the link to Employee Orientation to Environment Safety and Health.
  6. Click the Play button on the course intro page. If you took this course on SkillSoft before, you will see a pop up window with three buttons. Click the restart button to reset the course so your latest score is recorded.
  7. Once the course launches in it's separate player window, you will see the course menu.
  8. Towards the top of this page and on the far right column, there will be a link which says "Take Course Test". Click this link to begin.
  9. When you are done, click the exit button at the top right of the player window.

Once you successfully complete the test, you will automatically be credited for another 2 years. A score of > 80% is required to pass. The updated record will appear in your training history by the next day. If you have difficulty passing the exam, you must review the course material again.

Please see our web based training web page for further instructions on accessing web training.
