General
Why do I have to take this training?
Laws,
regulations, or SLAC Policy require employees to receive safety
training depending on the work they do. You can refer to the ES&H
Manual chapters to identify which training is required to comply
with regulations. In addition, supervisors may require an employee
to complete training that is not otherwise required by regulations.
Your supervisor determines what training you are required to take
based on your Job Hazard Analysis and Mitigation (JHAM). The purpose
of training is to assure that you know how to perform your work
safely.
Where does it say this training is required?
Each ESH Manual chapter has a section on
required training. In addition you can check the
reference to the regulatory drivers for each mandatory or "core"
course.
How do I register for a course?
Please see our
Registration Options web
page.
I received training at
my home institution; can I transfer that training to SLAC?
If you have taken training outside SLAC,
or are otherwise qualified in a subject, it may be transferable to
SLAC ES&H courses. The Subject Matter Expert for the particular
topic will have to determine this. Contact the
ES&H Training Team
to arrange for a review of your training. Please have a copy of your
training history available for the review.
Where can I find the ES&H Class Schedule?
Click on the course number or name in the
course catalog to see the class schedule for that course along with course
details.
You can also find a complete class schedule listing
here.
