Training - Frequently Asked Questions

Training Locations

Where are training classes held?
All training, except for Fire Extinguisher Training (which takes place at the SLAC Fire Station) and Radiological Worker II Training, is held in the Building 003 Training Room. From time to time, a class may be held in a different location. The class location will be displayed beside the affected class when you register online.

Where is Building 003?
Please use the SLAC map shown on the right. It highlights the location of Building 003 and the Upper Parking Lot. To see more detail, click on the map to open a larger version.  A printable version is also available.

If you are already parked at SLAC, it is much easier to walk to the class location.  Parking is limited in the classroom area and the closest lot is Upper Parking Lot (see map).

Directions to Building 003:
Beginning from the Main Gate (SLAC entrance gate and guard station at Sand Hill Road):

  • Turn right onto the Loop Road.
  • Continue on the Loop Road until you see that the road forks.
  • Near the fork, see Upper Parking Lot on your left (park in Upper Parking Lot if you drive to the classroom area)

To walk to class:

  • From Loop Road, walk toward Building 024 (see map).
  • Continue down the driveway on the West side of Building 024 until you see Building 034 on your left and Trailer 299 on your right.
  • To the right of Trailer 299 is Building 003.
  • The door to the training room is to the right of the vending machines that are located just outside of Building 003.  Room 110A (formerly the CCR)

Where can I take computer based training (CBT)?
ES&H training offers many courses via computer based training (CBT). There are numerous computer training satellites located around campus for your convenience. To find the satellite nearest you and to make an appointment to take a training course, please see our web page.
