Training - EOESH, GERT & SON Courses

SON, EOESH and GERT are web based training courses available at your desktop via our SkillSoft web based training portal. To access the training please use the SkillSoft login page.

You do not need to pre-register for the following CBT courses through the SLAC Registration System.
You must have a System I.D. number to take computer training. If you need to get a System I.D. please read this page.

Course 396 - Safety Orientation for Non-SLAC Employees (SON)

Safety Orientation for Non-SLAC Employees, is required training for any individual who will perform work at SLAC for less than 60 days during a given year and requires unescorted access to Industrial or Accelerator Areas.  If unescorted access to controlled or radiologically controlled areas is required,  General Employee Radiological Training (Course 115) must also be taken.

There is no test for this course but it must be viewed in it's entirety to receive credit.

Course 219 - Employee Orientation to Environmental Safety and Health (EOESH)

EOESH is required training for all personnel who work at SLAC for more than 60 days in a calendar year. If unescorted access to controlled or radiologically controlled areas is required,  General Employee Radiological Training (Course 115) must also be taken.

There is a test at the end of this course. A passing grade of 80% or better is required to receive credit.

Course 115 - General Employee Radiological Training (GERT)

GERT is required for any individual at SLAC who will need unescorted access to Controlled Areas (CAs) and/or Radiologically Controlled Areas (RCAs)

There is a test at the end of this course. A passing grade of 80% or better is required to receive credit.

Safety Orientation for Non-SLAC Employees (SON) or Employee Orientation to ES&H (EOESH) is a prerequisite to all radiological training.  You must take either Course #396 or Course #219 before taking GERT.
