Powder-actuated Tool

Operators of powder-actuated tools must be trained and certified by the supplying manufacturer in the use of the particular tool.

On-the-Job

All personnel who use portable tools will be trained by their supervisor in the following subjects through on-the-job training:

• Identification and description of potential hazards
• Selection
• Inspection
• Storage
• Good safety practices
• Procedures to follow in the event of a accident or injury
• Safe use, cleaning, and routine maintenance, and removal from service
• Tool- and task-specific requirements for PPE
