Requirements for penetration safety are derived from the following standards for general safe work practices:

• Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations
  • Part 1910, "Occupational Safety and Health Standards", Subpart S, "Electrical" (29 CFR 1910.301 and following)

  • Part 1926, "Safety and Health Regulations for Construction", Subpart K, "Electrical" (29 CFR 1926.400 and following)

• National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E-2004, "Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces"
