Chapter 03: Medical Safety
This chapter describes the services offered by the SLAC Occupational Health Center (Medical). Medical provides emergency care and first aid to all personnel
and provides SLAC employees with primary, preventive, and occupational
medical care and wellness services. The department manages and provides
medical surveillance for employees exposed to specific occupational hazards
regulated by the federal Department of Energy (DOE) and the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Primary, preventive, and
occupational medical services are provided as part of the comprehensive
health management program prescribed by the DOE Office of Worker Advocacy.
