AHAS
 |
Where are AHAs stored? |
| AHAs will be maintained by the area, building or facility manager, with copies available on the website at the
AHA Library page. |
 |
Will building managers be expected to conduct the Area Hazard
Assessment? |
| The
person assigned responsibility for preparing an AHA for an area will
not necessarily be the building manager. Directorates will assign responsible individuals. |
 |
If the AHA is a snapshot of an area at a particular time, what
is the value if the area hazards change? |
| The area responsible person should use best judgment about when to update AHA. The AHA is a living document and should be updated when significant changes in hazards occur. |
 |
Can we develop a generic checklist for doing the AHA? |
| The intent of the hazard analysis program is to get everyone thinking about the hazards and potential hazards they may encounter. Experience has shown that checklists can actually lead you in the opposite direction resulting in complacency and limiting the scope of thought applied to the process. Therefore, instead of providing checklists, we are providing may useful examples to demonstrate they types of things that should be considered. Certainly, supervisors and workers have the freedom to develop their own checklists if they find it helpful. |
