Training (5.3)
All personnel and their supervisors who work with hazardous material or waste must receive relevant training. See Chapter 40, "Hazardous Materials", for full details on required training. The following are specific requirements for hazardous waste.
Generators (5.3.1)
Personnel generating or working with hazardous wastes must take the following courses:
Designated Persons (5.3.2)
The training for designated persons is the same as for generators.
Waste Management Personnel (5.3.3)
In addition to the above requirements, personnel involved in the treatment and packaging of hazardous wastes are required to take the following course prior to initial assignment and then annually thereafter:
Hazardous Waste Transporters (5.3.4)
Personnel who perform or supervise any of the following activities
- Loading or unloading hazardous wastes
- Marking containers, drums, or packages for use in the off-site transportation of hazardous wastes
- Preparing hazardous wastes for off-site transport
- Operating a vehicle used to transport hazardous wastes off-site
Are required to take the following:
