What to Do in an Emergency?

In the event of a fire:

  • Sound the alarm.
  • Evacuate the building
  • Use a fire extinguisher only if you are trained in its proper use
  • Meet the fire department and tell them exactly where the fire is
  • Provide the fire department with a copy of the building's Facility Emergency Plan
  • If the fire is in a Radiological Control Area, ensure that Radiation Protection (x4299) responds to provide monitoring
