Program Description
During the internship, students work with a scientist or engineer on a project related to the laboratory’s research program. At the conclusion of the program, students write a research paper and make a brief presentation on their projects. Students also participate in a program of scientific lectures and tours.
The 2008 summer program at SLAC is for eight weeks from June 23 to August 15. An additional one week of participation through August 22 is optional, but encouraged.
Students Selected for the Internship receive:- Stipends
- Travel Expenses
- Free Housing on Stanford University campus
Research Opportunities
During the program, students work with a scientist or engineer on a project related to the laboratory's research program. Student projects range from solar-cell technology to astrophysics, from cancer drug research to particle physics and accelerator design, and from biocompatibility of medical devices to ultrafast (femtosecond) phenomena.

Eligibility for SULI Internship:
- United States Citizen or Permanent Resident Aliens
- Undergraduate majoring in science or engineering
- Ability to commit to an 8-week program at SLAC
To Apply:
- Complete the Department of Energy’s on-line SULI Internship application
- Specify SLAC as your first choice laboratory assignment
- Send an e-mail to Farah Rahbar expressing your interest in SLAC program
