Streaming Media Project: This technology is used to broadcast
seminars and conferences on demand via the Web. These services are a
collaborative effort and require close coordination of limited lab resources
with several departments: Sponsoring Group, Communications Group and SCS
Services. Responsibilities are outlined below.
- Sponsoring Group: Coordinate detailed
arrangements for event; web page for streaming media, scanning of talks and
links to streaming media files.
- Communications Group: Responsible for
coordinating live production of event; provide multimedia services as
requested by sponsoring group; coordinate effort and resources with SCS.
- SCS Staff: Maintain server for streaming
media projects; encrypt files from live production (digital feed or video
feed) to server; coordinate resources with Public Affairs.
