About Social Media at SLAC
Social media tools have emerged as an effective method for quickly and efficiently communicating to large and varied audiences. These advantages, however, pose a certain risk if social media is misused, abused or used in a manner that detracts from SLAC’s mission.
The Social Media Use policy guidelines prepared by the SLAC Office of Communications provide a framework for the official use of social media on behalf of SLAC, and for SLAC employees utilizing social media for collaborative or personal use. This policy also provides best practices for utilizing SLAC-approved social media tools to amplify SLAC content and engage key audiences, while conforming to industry best practices and existing policies.
