Round trip relocation (3 months to one year) assistance
STANFORD LINEAR ACCELERATOR CENTER Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and, therefore all reimbursements for travel have to adhere to both DOE and Stanford University policies and guidelines.
3 MONTHS TO ONE YEAR (ROUND TRIP) RELOCATION ASSISTANCE
(If the term of appointment is for more than three (3) months but less than one (1) year, the following guidelines apply, in conjunction with Round Trip Travel: Reimbursable Costs.)

No reimbursement will be made for the shipment of household effects. SLAC will reimburse actual costs for shipment of personal effects, with the following weight limitations:

INSURANCE: The reimbursable cost of insurance for household and personal effects during shipping is limited to "all risk" replacement cost insurance, subject to the weight limitations.

PACKING: The actual cost of packing, unpacking, crating, and uncrating personal effects is allowed, subject to the specified weight limitations.

STORAGE: Costs for moves to and from storage once are allowed, subject to the weight limitations. Storage is limited to sixty days.

UTILITIES: Reasonable costs of disconnecting and connecting ordinary household utility services are reimbursable.

AFTER ARRIVAL: After arriving at SLAC, and while searching for permanent living quarters, a new employee, spouse/same sex domestic partner, and dependent children living at home are eligible for reimbursement of all or a reasonable part of actual expenses incurred. The following are guidelines of reasonableness: These rates reflect those in effect as of this date. Actual reimbursement will be consistent with those published in the Stanford University Administrative Guide, 36.7R

MAXIMUM PERIOD: For appointees to be employed for more than three (3) months and less than one (1) year, the maximum period is:

If a rental car is authorized by Employment, SLAC may pay up to the maximum of $150/week for two weeks. Stanford University provides self-insurance on rental cars so you should not purchase more. LDW, CDW, PAI, LAI, PEC, and other insurance waivers will not be reimbursed.

RECEIPTS: Receipts are not required for M&IE (meals and incidental expenses) expenses, nor are they required for transportation costs under $25. Original receipts are required for all other expenses.
