Rachel Claus

A member of Stanford University's Office of General Counsel, Rachel Claus has specific cognizance over the activities of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), a school of Stanford University devoted to graduate photon science, high energy physics, particle-astrophysics and cosmology, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. Ms. Claus reports to and advises both the SLAC Directorate and the University Office of General Counsel.

Before joining Stanford's Office of General Counsel, Ms. Claus proposed, developed, and wrote the one-volume "Guide to Government Contracting" - a loose-leaf reporter aimed at small businesses contracting with the federal government - for CCH, Inc. For almost 20 years prior to that effort, she counseled clients in a wide range of industries with regard to their federal contract activities, practicing before boards of contract appeals, U.S. Claims Court, federal district court, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Rachel Claus is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Public Contract Section of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA); she is also President of the DOE Contractor Attorneys' Association (DOECAA, Inc.), past President of the M&0 Contractor Attorneys' Association (MOCAA, Inc.) and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Claims Court, the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California, and the California Supreme Court.
