From modeling single particle trajectories and simple geometries [1990] to simulations of 10^7 of interacting macro-particles and structures of nnn degrees of freedom [2003] in order to design machines which can accelerate 10^12 particles with 100% efficiency, and construct structures with tolerances xxx ppm High-fidelity accelerator modeling has helped optimize existing machines and is necessary in order to successfully design the next generation accelerators.
