Educational and Employment Programs

SLAC has a number of programs designed to enhance diversity in the sciences. These programs were undertaken as part of our overall commitment to minorities and women and to communities who are attempting to improve the employment opportunities of minorities and women. They were designed to help minorities and women stay in college by supporting them financially with part-time jobs and to encourage them to choose science as a possible career. These programs have resulted in minorities and women acquiring their undergraduate degrees in the sciences and have laid a solid foundation upon which many have gone on and received their graduate degree.
